About Allianz

Allianz is a German insurer that is part of the Allianz Group.

The company was founded in 1890 and has grown into one of the largest insurers in the world.

In 2008, Allianz acquired Allsecur, a well-known Dutch car insurer from Den Bosch. Nowadays, Allianz is also known as a provider of the cheapest car insurance and home contents insurance. In addition, this German insurer also offers mortgages on the Dutch mortgage market.

What are the funding sources for Allianz?

Allianz’s money comes from the premiums they receive through non-life insurance, such as car insurance, home contents insurance, liability insurance and travel insurance.

Mortgage interest from Allianz

Allianz, Venn Hypotheken, NIBC, Woonnu

Allianz mainly wants to lend money for the longer term. That is why it offers low mortgage rates for mortgages with a fixed interest rate period of 20 and 30 years. This concerns mortgages with NHG.

Is Allianz reliable?

Allianz can be seen as a reliable insurer and mortgage provider.

The company has been around since 1890 and is active internationally. More than 100,000 employees work at Allianz worldwide. Of course, this all contributes to the reliability of the company.

I find Allianz reliable because they have been around for years and if they temporarily do not participate, they keep the interest rates available, but they then temporarily offer higher interest rates. Fortunately, there are often enough cheaper alternatives that you can find a solution for new customers at another bank.

What are my experiences with Allianz?

I have positive experiences with Allianz Mortgages. Applying for and processing mortgages is fast.

In general, they follow NHG policy, which means that they have a fairly flexible acceptance policy.

Sometimes Allianz stops playing for a while, but then the mortgages remain available, but the interest rate increases. Fortunately, there are often good alternatives.
